Story About Your Firiend Lyrics by Salty Vixen

healing from shadows

2024

Story About Your Friend
[Verse 1]
I know you’re listening, so let me tell you a story
About what your friend tried to do to me
In high school, your friend, I looked up to
But that night in college, he made feel uncomfortable
[Pre-Chorus:]
When he played in the percussion ensemble
I was happy to see him, thought everything was fine
But once that picture snapped, things turned so strange
His hand slipped down my back, a moment that felt deranged
[Chorus:]
I said, “I don’t feel comfortable,” but he leaned in close, In that moment of fear, I felt like a ghost
I mentioned your name, hoping to find some grace, But he just got angry, like I wasn’t in place
You never knew what I battled or fought, Your friend made me uncomfortable, it’s you I sought
[Verse 2:]
A year later, we crossed paths under different skies
He rested his hand on my leg, gazed through his lies
I was never into him; it was you I adored
You were always kind to me and when I was around you
I felt protected
[Pre-Chorus:]
In those hallways of high school, I felt so alone, I was ignored
And made fun of by most and with every shy glance
I gave your way, I felt protected by you in an odd way because you treated me like a Lady
You never knew some of the things your friend tried to do to me...
[Bridge:]
This is the story, the truth that I bear, The shy girl you knew is still hiding somewhere. You’ve been my protector, even from afar, In the chaos of life, you’ve been my guiding star
[Otro:]
So let me tell you a story of how it all went, Of moments unspoken and the message I sent
I’ve always been that shy girl who kept quiet as I had nobody to talk to
And perhaps why you are strong in my mind as I haven't found someone to protect me.....
