E2e4 Lyrics by Self Critic

Career Failure Vol. 2

2018

[Verse 1]

Success in life is perceived to depend on your monetary possessions
And on what random bystanders think when they become aware of your profession

What I don't understand is why bankrolls and vanity play such a vital role
In lifelong goals for the population to achieve perfection
When the greatest excitement is gained with insight by educating your mind with wisdom
Which is possible with a strong desire in you and without a giant income

[Chorus]

Perspectives you need to inspect for the sake of your intellect
Reveal and explore an effect you never knew before
You've got to be hard to predict to prevent your fall in cement
There's no need to always begin with the move e2-e4

[Verse 2]

Why can't I be happy with every single problem that I stumble on?
Is there a rule that if I don't solve them, everything I deem important will crumble soon?

Of course, one should always strive for improvement in life as human
Fight to remove flaws, slide in in new doors, find an improved course, if the old one stops working
It's just that success should be defined by you in your mind
Because nobody else knows what is best for you; have some faith in yourself, you're not a moron

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]

... in a psychological game of chess, where you play defense and your rival can't suppress
His aim to press taking risks to take down your fortress till it's mate in six
As you protect your a pawn, concede the center, allowing a d4 break, make his pieces better
When you retreat to the back rank, watch the sacs, pins, skewers, discoveries, and do not collapse
Cause somewhere in the moors of rustic squalor, face rasping morning gust marauder
Inherently absorbing dust amid a forming rust, a woman born a son and daughter
The circumstances behind birth having reified kid nurturing hyperboles
Dispersed unease cursed with these uncertainties about not turning in live Hercules
To fight for the idyll in their kids' lives, be beside them as a guiding light in the kids' eyes
Minimize pain sidling by them in disguise inviting to despise the motto they live by
And to rouse the hidden powers in them hours into drowsiness having bled at work
When they're still scrambling for stamina to sustain the quality of education policy in their home, put on red alert
Abandoning schemes planned for their dreams to direct passion and zeal at the kids
Be devil's advocates and make scant of thanks, but morally support them no matter how bad it gets
Cause they're a catalyst for mom's and dad's ambitions, aspirations of the past's gone missing
Now every subconciously good or bad decision is revamped to fit in what the brat is wishing
As the little rascals grow, they develop passions of their own
And the parents grant them stepping stones to advance towards the goal for a chance to be a pro at the field they chose
As soon as they find the soulmate, try to create a child, a new fate cycle is shaped
And desires deflate for the drive of your babies and the question is do you want the cycle to break
