I’d make up lines
And keep your attention for a long time
I’d purposely mess with your mind
I’d talk that talk when I was in that mood
I knew how to be sweet and rude
I had a little sassy attitude
I wasn’t about all that mushy stuff
Conversation and company was enough
Getting close to me was pretty tough
Don’t be talkin’ ‘bout “you all in love” and stuff
If I found myself fallin’ for you
You would never even have a clue
Emotions was somethin’ I just didn’t do
I’d rather move on, be through
Because I’d see my homegirls being up, then down
From brothas spinnin’ their emotional world around
I never knew who to blame
Except, the dating game
So…
I had to keep my mind protected
Didn’t let no sweet talk affect it
Outside, I’d be smiling
But inside, I’d reject it
I had the game perfected
Now this is the message I left with my friends
