Drawing a Dark Way
After Kenna reveals that she's a third and the risks that go along with that, Jason decides that he still wants to travel with her since her being a third is just one risk in a sea of many and he can use all the help he can get. Kenna then asks Jason about himself because she can tell that he's hiding a lot of things. Jason decides to tell her everything, starting with Emily's birthday party and the mysterious drawings he found, and ending to when he and Kenna first met after he escaped from the Kogs. Naja is dismayed at Jason's willingness to travel with Kenna and reveal everything about himself. After their discussion, Jason fixes Lenore quickly and they all start on their journey.

Paper Towns
When Quentin was 2, he moved into the subdivision of Jefferson Park next to Margo Roth Spiegelman. They were best friends, and when they were both 9, they went to the park on a hot day in March and saw a dead man pouring blood next to the big tree. They ran home to tell their parents, and later on Margo did some investigating. She found out that the man was lawyer getting divorced and he committed suicide because of that, according to his neighbor. She then shares her theory about what really happened, which is that all the strings in him broke. The next chapter is about Quentin's longest day in his life, where he starts the day off late. We find out that his best friend is Ben, and that most of his friends are in band even though he's too tone deaf to join. When he gets to school, all his friends are talking about how his ex-girlfriend, a cellist, is going to prom with Taddy Mac the baseball player. Then Ben pulls him aside and tells him that their other best friend, Radar, is also going to prom.
